The Pangaea app dynamically visualizes the breakup of the supercontinent Pangaea and the positions of the continents over the last 200 million years on a 3D globe. Significant geological events are highlighted on the globe, indicating their occurrence in millions of years ago. Detailed information about each event can be accessed with a simple tap, with some events featuring illustrations for further insight.

The app provides continuous display of latitude and longitude at the center, time in Ma (million years ago), and the corresponding geologic time period and epoch. Users can navigate through time by dragging the slider or using the arrow buttons for precise adjustments. Additionally, tapping on the slider background allows for instant time jumps, while globe rotation and zooming can be achieved by dragging or pinching, respectively.

Illustrated by Dennis Tasa, the app maintains modern continent shapes throughout various time periods to facilitate easy identification. Moreover, it aligns with the Next Generation Science Standards for Earth Science, specifically ESS1.C focusing on the History of Planet Earth and ESS2.B exploring Plate Tectonics and Large-Scale System Interactions.
